At any one
time,
Purely
Computing is
typically
managing
IT
project and
programme
budgets in
excess of
£500,000 on
behalf of
our
clients.
These
projects are
normally
based
around:
- Technology
Refresh
projects,
including
upgrades for
Windows
and/or MS
Office.
- Relocation
projects,
ranging from
a handful of
staff moving
internally
to new head
offices
and/or data
centre
moves.
- The
implementation
of new IT
Infrastructure,
including
Standard
Platform
(our managed
service
offering),
migrations
to Microsoft
Exchange,
Network
Attached
Storage,
web hosted
solutions
and network
upgrades.
Our
Programme
and Project
Management
team are all
trained in
our
preferred
methodology,
Prince 2.
During the
project, we
expect our
Project
Managers to
produce the
following
documentation
(as a
minimum)
- Project
Brief
This is a
short
document
which is
produced to
ensure that
we have a
clear
understanding
of your
requirements.
This
document
defines at a
high level
the scope,
milestone
dates,
budgets and
acceptance
criteria.
- Project
Initiation
Document
This
document
expands upon
the Project
Brief and
defines the
project in a
lot more
details.
- Project
Plans
Typically
produced in
Microsoft
Project, the
detailed
project
plans allow
the Project
Manager to
assess the
progress of
the project
on a day to
day basis.
- Status
Reports
These are
typically
produced
weekly or
fortnightly
and show how
the project
is
progressing
against the
PID.
- Risk and
Issue Logs
Used to
identify and
assess
project
risks and
issues
throughout
the project.
- Test plans
These are
normally
prepared by
a technical
resource and
assessed
against the
acceptance
criteria to
ensure that
the solution
meets the
original
project
objectives.
- Project
Closure
Report
Prepared at
the end of
the project
to verify
that the
acceptance
criteria
have been
met and to
identify any
lessons
learned
during the
project.
